How to get into a top European university without a perfect grade

European Master's admissions — particularly in Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, and France — are profile-led, not purely grades-led.

A 7.2 GPA with a well-written SOP, relevant internship, and clear career narrative often outperforms an 8.8 GPA with nothing but the transcript.

What committees look for: evidence you understand why this course at this university, not a generic 'I want to study abroad'. Technical depth in one area matters more than being average across everything.

The practical tip: build one visible project. A small analytics dashboard you published on GitHub, a research note you wrote, a conference you presented at. One visible artefact changes the conversation entirely.
